  1. Having dealt with the Preface and the Introduction and after the first contact with what Puar wants to present in “The Right to Maim”, it was inevitable that this question, among others, came to my mind: Should we feel guilty for being born where we were born? Regarding situations in the Middle East, I think in many cases it is very easy to claim certain issues having a Western passport in your pocket. It is indescribable how the situation in other countries can affect so much till the level of empathizing and feeling guilty for being well and not going through the same arduous situation. Therefore it is irrational that in these times, claiming your most essential rights can cost your life in certain countries. Thus, put yourself in other’s shoes it is not as easy as many say.
Maiming or this form of biopolitical control of the individual’s rights is what many countries pursue, to subdue, weaken and take advantage of this situation of social debility/incapacity in their favour. At the end it is assumed that it is easier and more effective to do this than to kill and not take advantage of it.
