  1. I liked many things about the course and wished unexpected circumstances did not take away so much of the course’s class time. As assignments are what our primary work to is to finish the module, every week helped us to create better writings, especially considering the fact that I’ve never created texts in English exceeding regular essays. I looked back to every presentation that was available and it was easy to navigate, thanks to the blog. Talking about the blog, I personally loved it. Having a transparent, sort of open sourse blog where everything was concentrated, is definitely better than anything else I’ve seen in educational institution. It reminded me of how most companies operate in their Crm systems, which is one of the most efficient ways to work collectively. The fact that our first deadline was earlier than the other module’s one really helped to spread out the work and be significantly more prepared for the “rated” one. I also wished more involvment in using the blog actively from more people in the faculty, as it dropped significantly after two months. I was truly impressed seeing your analysis on possible “instabilities” in each of the posted topics, which helped me with creating mine. Although many lectures were interrupted by upredictable issues, having an active blog and weekly presentations helped with uninterrupted study possibilities. Thanks Professor for the time and dedication, I will always look back at this course with positivity.

  2. This lecture really helped me distinguish reader profiles for my written work. While I’ve been writing papers for all my academic degrees over the years, this course made me realize I’ve never really thought about a target audience before, and how the same content could be written in different forms to reach different readers. I also enjoyed the in-class discussions. Finally, here is a suggestion for future semesters, I believe incorporating weekly readings on various topics related to the Middle East and having 3 or 4 response papers throughout the semester would be even more beneficial to keep us engaged with the readings and discussions.

Thank you for everything throughout the semester

  3. Bearing in mind this was the first time I faced doing such academic work of this kind, I think I tried to approach it in the best possible way. The course has been a way of abstracting myself from everything I have done and studied so far, with the aim of getting out of that “conventional bubble” to be able to reflect and explore other areas from another perspective. Making us get out of our comfort zone with the aim of understanding and becoming interested in other subjects and methods when it comes to writing has been one of the most remarkable things. Also, as a result of this experience I reaffirm that writing is not something innate, it requires a lot of practice, reading and time to evolve step by step and improve those skills. Therefore, understanding something is very important, but it is even more important to know how to translate it into writing. Lastly, I would like to thank you for being able to attend this course and for everything you did to make it possible, thank you very much.

  4. I am grateful for the insights that this course has provided, helping me reevaluate what I thought I knew and offering essential tips for academic writing. I also found your lectures and discussions to be fruitful, and I would like to express my gratitude for your efforts, sincerity, and open communication during the classes. Thank you
