Quick thought for your walk this week: Kreuzberg is famous for its contradictions. But what if they’re not contradictions at all?
Where do things collaborate that aren’t supposed to?
Tsing would say: look for the assemblages. Scott would say: look where the grid breaks down. Macfarlane would say: look for unexpected relations that generate life.
Start anywhere—Kottbusser Tor, the canal, the backstreets. Notice what shares space: activist centers and luxury flats, informal economies and official ones, memorials and nightlife, languages that coexist on the same wall.
Don’t collect examples. Just walk with the question. See what finds you.
